Launch of IIBA Midlands is a great success!

The launch event of the IIBA Midlands chapter was held on Monday, 10th May.

It was a great success with a big turnout from the local BA community, an impressive venue (provided by Capital One) with excellent food kindly supplied by Capital One.

Penny Pullan facilitated a lively discussion on career development for BA’s and has captured a visual summary of the event on her web site (mental note: we must bring a camera to all IIBA events as they capture the spirit of the event quickly and effectively). Click here for her blog post.

Allan Kelly talked with clear enthusiasm on the BA’s role in Agile and the realities of Agile, giving the audience a clear insight into the world of Agile, the challenges that companies face and how BA’s can contribute to its successful takeup.

We asked a few questions after the event on what the audience wanted from a local BA community and requested offers for venues, ideas for speakers and volunteers to help set things up.

We then adjourned to the pub where I talked to a few of the BA’s who were present and the feedback was extremely positive.

I had a long chat with Allan on the train home after the event and he gave me a few ideas for the conference and running communities based on his experiences.

I shall send a follow up email (to everyone who was initially contacted) with details of the presentations, a quick survey and an indication of what happens next for the community.

Here’s to future success!
