- Become a member of the Business Architecture Guild
- Request a voucher – you must request and receive a voucher prior to scheduling an appointment to take the exam. Vouchers are free and are valid for approximately 1 year. Payment is made at the time the exam is scheduled. Please see the Certification FAQs for more information.
- Prepare for the exam – you can get the Business Architect Guild Study Guide. You can read and study the Business Architecture Body of Knowledge or attend a certified business architecture training course. You can take a readiness quiz
- Schedule the exam – the Certified Business Architect (CBA) exam is administered by Pearson VUE and Object Management Group (OMG) for the Business Architecture Guild. The exam may be taken at a Pearson VUE testing centre or online through OnVUE.
How much does the CBA (Certified Business Architect) Cost?
The standard exam fee is USD $375 (or foreign currency equivalent outside the US). Note that the price will be slightly higher in non-English speaking countries. The cost is the same if you take the exam in person or online.
CBA Certified Business Architect Exam
The only requirement to sign up and sit for the exam is to be a Business Architecture Guild member in good standing.
The CBA Certified Business Architect exam has 150 questions and a 150 minute time limit.
A Guide to the Business Architecture Body of Knowledge (BIZBOK Guide), version 8.5 or later, is an important resource for preparing for the exam.
The BIZBOK Guide is available to Business Architecture Guild members.
The Business Architecture Guild’s Certified Business Architect (CBA) program tests business architecture competencies in 10 domains. These domains include core and extended mapping, usage scenarios, governance, related discipline alignment, business performance and infrastructure management.
